Penny has always been a strong, spirited horse and a natural leader of her herd. But everything changed when she suddenly developed severe abdominal pain.
Despite immediate veterinary treatment, Penny’s condition continued to worsen, and she was rushed to an equine hospital for emergency care.
At first, veterinarians hoped medication and intensive monitoring would be enough. Unfortunately, her condition became critical, and doctors determined that without surgery, Penny would not survive.
She underwent emergency abdominal surgery to treat the damaged sections of her intestine and give her a chance to live.
Penny has made it through the operation, but her fight is far from over. She now needs intensive veterinary care, medications, monitoring, and a careful recovery before she can safely return home.
Before becoming sick, Penny was happy, energetic, and loved being surrounded by her herd and people. She deserves the chance to have that life again.
